PHRYGIA. Hierapolis. Augustus, 27 BC-AD 14. Hemiassarion (Bronze, 18 mm, 4.73 g, 12 h), Meniskos, son of Diphilos, magistrate (archon?) for the third time. ΣΕΒΑΣΤΟΣ Bare head of Augustus to right. Rev. MENΙΣΚΟΣ / ΔΙΦΙΛΟΥ / ΤΟ - Γ - ΙΕΡΑΠΟΛΙΤΩΝ Apollo standing front, head to left, holding patera in his right hand and double-axe over his left shoulder. Naumann 38 (2015), 548 (same dies). RPC I -, cf. 2956 corr. (laureate head and with erroneous obverse legend). Apparently unpublished, the better of only two known examples. Somewhat smoothed, otherwise, good very fine.
